Heal well and soon! Glad that particular digit was not extended on our first meeting.

I looked all over for my writing material. Couldn't find it. I guess it got lost from my move last year after Bob died. I'm sorry. I have someone to
call that I can check. I'm not giving up. Once I find it I'm sure others might find it useful too. It's about "How to Write".

Thanks Invisible, I have access to this info from another source. I appreciate your effort.
I had asked Invisible to share some material on how to outline a plot. She generously offered to share some information that she acquired from a workshop. This is one of the ways that a Critique group can be helpful. I hope others will join us next time we meet. Iflyfish |

The hand is much better now, though still somwhat stiff and a bit swollen, especially in mornings. All from what now appears to have been a cut only 1/4"
long!
I do hope more (choose your adjective) writers in Washington County, who evidenced interest in the group, can come to our next meeting, wherever it may be. Ultimately most writing on the blank page is a solitary activity, but I have high hopes the group will be a big benefit. After the words flow, getting them to their destination, the reader, involves others. I would like to mention again something from the meeting which may be helpful. On OPD's digital TV channel 10.3, Sunday (and maybe Saturday?) nights, leading-off the "OUS Lectures" segment there (usually?) is "Back Page" with Jody Seay, an interview with PNW writers. I often find it interesting. |

Hello!
I live on Walker off 158th. I'm a published writer who hasn't been writing (as in words on page leading to pages/novel) for some time. But I'm back on track and just starting a new mainstream novel. To be honest, my persusal of the messages left me unsure of the status of the group. I'm hoping that your group comprises writers who have been published, are/were/intend to be agented, etc. I can be reached at Deerdock@aol.com. Look forward to hearing from you! Best, Eileen |

Please send me contact info. You can reach me directly at Deerdock@aol.com.
Also, I posted my interest in the Hillsboro writing group but haven't received a response. Do you have any contact information/information about whether the group formed? Thanks! Eileen |

Oh please, use the message board as much as possible unless the message is truly personal. We neet to at least make an appearance that we're developing a
"critical mass".

Oh, yeah, I forgot. There seemed to be general consensus in our first meeting that we meant to "cover" Beaverton AND Hillsboro. No decision as to
HOW, just yet. Centralized site? Alternating? And with respect to the Mystery Writers, we didn't seem particulary to specialize as to genre. The three
of us were in totally different genres.

I'm curious about the status of this group and interested in joining. I published five Regency romances (Jane Austen-esque stuff) in the 90's and am
getting back into writing, but I need a group to push me further than I push myself. I'm experimenting with longer historicals and perhaps an urban
fantasy. I have one suspense novel finished but I haven't found a publisher. Do you have a regular meeting established?

We have met once. There were three of us that met last time. I am interested in continuing. We do not have a location for our next meeting.
I am off to California next week and won't be back till after Thanksgiving. Invisible and Paul will need to set up the next meeting. I am glad that you are interested. Iflyfish |

November meeting | ||

Oops, this is the third Sunday, and we've nothing agreed. What's the phrase, "as much in the breach as
the observance"? Making the best of it, how about NEXT Sunday 1-ish, just this one time? So where do people want to meet? There's Beaverton,
Hillsboro, or somewhere in the middle, say along 185th? If'n it's still to be more of a formation than working meeting, I think a local casual
restaurant might work, say Shari's on 185th near Cornell in Tannasborne? Somebody got a better suggestion? As I recall, Invisible checked with the
Hillsboro Library for today at 1, and found their meeting room booked. Perhaps we could check if it's available on next Sunday? We really need to get a
"critical mass" group committed to coming. What's it going to take?

Beaverton may not work for everyone, but it is possible to schedule their meeting rooms online for a series of dates. At the moment they do have rooms
available for several Sundays. See: https://www.beavertonoregon.gov/secure/booking_system/room_finder.cfm

thanks drmarylou for the info. I used to use the place for presentations and it is a good one. I also used the Hillsboro Library for presentations. Both
require reservations.
I am leaving for California this next week so cannot attend. I thought I would be gone by now. I look forward to meeting again and hope new folks will get onboard. Maybe the interest and participation will increase after the holidays. We are moving into a new home in the Orenco area and I would be willing to host this group after the New Year. Iflyfish |

So are we meeting this Sunday? | ||

What say you all? Does Tannasborne suit? Does somebody have a better idea on short notice? I'm ready, how about all interested parties?

Let's meet tomorrow!! | ||
|
I'm planning to be at Shari's on 185th in Tannasborne (in front of Trader Joe's), tomorrow, Sunday, at 1PM. (At our initial meeting we decided on
3rd Sunday's, but nobody came up with a venue, so it slipped away.) Guess I'll wear my red-checked shirt. See someong there in a red checked shirt,
not wearing a full beard & glasses, it ain't me!

Thanks for picking up on this Paul. I am on the road now and won't return for a couple of weeks. I will attend our next meeting. I hope others will join so
we can develop a critical mass.
